- The “Last On, First Off” Rule
To prevent damage from chemicals and snagging:

- Last On: Put your jewellery on after applying lotions, perfumes, hairspray, or makeup. Chemicals in these products can dull the shine of your diamonds and gold.
- First Off: Take your jewellery off before undressing to avoid catching prongs on fabric, which can loosen the diamond setting.
- Activities to Avoid
Remove your Ayaani jewellery before:

- Swimming: Chlorine in pools and salt in the ocean can erode the alloys in gold, potentially leading to cracks or dissolved settings.
- Gym/Heavy Lifting: Gold is a soft metal. Intense pressure or contact with dumbbells can bend the band or loosen the prongs holding your diamond.
- Household Cleaning: Bleach and harsh detergents can permanently discolour the metal.
- Professional Cleaning & Inspections

- The 6-Month Check: We recommend bringing your jewellery to a professional jeweller every 6 months to check that the prongs are tight and the diamond is secure.
- Ultrasonic Cleaning: While lab-grown diamonds are safe in ultrasonic cleaners, some side stones or fragile settings may not be. When in doubt, stick to the “Home Cleaning” method below.
- How to Clean Your Diamonds at Home
Keep your diamond “fire” alive with this simple routine:

- Soak: Place your jewellery in a bowl of warm water mixed with a few drops of mild dish soap. Let it soak for 20–30 minutes.
- Brush: Use a new, soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub the diamond, paying special attention to the area underneath the stone where oils and lotions collect.
- Rinse: Rinse under warm running water (ensure the sink drain is closed!).
- Dry: Pat dry with a lint-free microfiber cloth. Avoid paper towels as they can scratch the metal.
- Safe Storage
- Individual Pouches: Diamonds are the hardest natural substance and can easily scratch your other jewellery (and each other).
- Cool & Dry: Store your Ayaani pieces in a fabric-lined jewellery box or the original Ayaani box provided at purchase.
Warranty Note: Damage resulting from failure to follow these care instructions (such as bent prongs from heavy lifting or chemical erosion from chlorine) is not covered under our standard manufacturing warranty.
